i don't want to route traffic twice but would like better signal on my second floor.



ideas?How to use a wireless router just to transmit wireless? and not inter fear with my main router.?That really depends on what routers you have. Most modern routers will have an option called something similar to Wireless Distribution Service or Wireless Repeating.



You'll need the MAC address of both the base and the client and will have to enter the client MAC in the base config page and vice versa. Depending on the brand, the client should be set as an Access Point or a Repeater and the base router will probably be set as base client.



It's advisable to have two identical routers as they tend to understand each other better. Also, you'll probably have to use WEP as it works best when using a repeater but it is obviously unsecure.
