I live on the 32nd floor of a highrise in the inner harbor, Baltimore, MD. Will the 700 mile wide Hurricane Irene be a lethal force to me?Is Hurricane Irene lethal to me?
It is too early to predict where Irene will travel. The further north it travels, it can get into cold dry air which can kill the system. You can find more information here http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/graphics_at4.sht鈥?/a> If it does travel up that far and is still a strong system, I suggest possible evacuation, especially if you are near the coastal areas. Is Hurricane Irene lethal to me?
By Friday morning you should have a much better idea of whether you will need to evacuate or not. Depending on the path of the storm, you would not want to be exposed to those winds that high up. Keep checking the news and the National Hurricane Center web site, which someone already linked to.
