i will be visting the inner harbor in baltimore this weekend with my 9 year old niece, my husband and 4 year old step son. Im looking for a SAFE place to stay near baltimore because inner harbor is far out of my budget for a hotel. anyone familiar with the area who knows of a safe place to stay where hotels arent outrageous, please let me know :)Safest place near baltimore to stay?
May i suggest to you peabody court hotel which is located in the heart of beautiful old charm style mount vernon.
You could take a taxi to the harbor in less than 2 minutes ,i think it's 1 mile down charles street.
The hotel has a good bar restaurant and there is a good cafe place donnas for lunch and many ethnic choices.
The harbor is well,so touristy i personally don't recommend it.

The closest to be safe, that would be New Jersey .
I would say Columbia in Maryland but its like 20 minutes away, Good luck!
