Besides the National Aquarium, what fun things are there to do in Baltimore?

I'm staying near Patterson Park and have already been to Inner Harbor, so any other suggestions would be welcome. Also, any suggestions on things to do within an hour's car ride would be nice (besides Washington, DC).Besides the National Aquarium, what fun things are there to do in Baltimore?

Fells Point is one of the most active parts of the city. Shops, restaurants, bars, etc. Can be a bit sketchy, but very alive. Good seafood restaurants, including Bertha's.

Have you gone to the Visionary Museum (AVAM) on the lower end of the harbor? (near the Rusty Scupper restaurant.) I think it's lots of fun, a bit expensive but there are also outdoor attractions that you can enjoy for free.

Take the light rail up to Hamden for local color. If you get off at the Woodberry stop, there are artists' studios in the industrial parks in that neighborhood. There's a little known place called the Amaranthine museum nearby (http://www.amaranthinemuseum.com/index.h鈥?/a> which is quite interesting if you like far-out things.

The BMA in Charles Village is worth visiting and has a lovely sculpture garden.

School 33 Art Centre in lower Federal Hill (http://www.school33.org/), 1427 Light Street, is one of the best contemporary galleries in the city. They can also help you find other places to visit, as they run the annual studio tour in October.

As you can see, I mostly go to Baltimore for art and shopping. What kind of stuff are you looking for?Besides the National Aquarium, what fun things are there to do in Baltimore?
